PANIC BOARD
Here's my GMTK Jam '26 submission!
I wanted to mess around and see how a rapid-fire version of Snakes and Ladders/Wii Party Board Game Island might work.
How to play
The game is 1-8 players (local), with optional computer players. You can use controllers or map players to keys.
Everyone only has 2 keys: choose left and choose right. Everyone picks from the same 2 numbers (instead of rolling dice) and will move that number of spaces. Fail to pick in time and you don't move! There are spaces that move you forward, back or let you swap places with another player.
First to the end wins...
What I'd do with more time
Didn't use all 96 hours, I'd say this was more of like 2 focused days. I was thinking about making all the stats at the results screen factor into who won, but I'd definitely refactor what those metrics would be. I was thinking about swap spaces being replaced with an item/powerup with 2 effects that you would have to choose between (eg: swap with player X, freeze player X for a turn, bring everyone to the same space, change the severity of plus/minus spaces).
Overall, very happy with this silly party game! Learned a little shader stuff and got a little more confident with prefabs. Will definitely have to play with friends in person at some point (although be wary of keyboard ghosting if you're cooped around one keyboard!)
